Commerce : Le kg de fèves de cacao atteint la barre de 2 730 FCFA au Cameroun

Le volume global de 85 tonnes de fèves a connu un dépôt d’une caution individuelle record de 30 000 000 FCFA par chaque compétiteur.

Dans la foulée de la vente groupée de cacao organisée le 20 janviers 2024 à Biba Zezou dans le département du Dja et Lobo région du Sud, le ministre du Commerce (Mincommerce) Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, vient de rendre public, les nouveaux du kg de cacao au Cameroun.

« Le marché vient de franchir un nouveau palier, atteignant le pic de 2 730 FCFA/kg, à l’occasion d’une cérémonie similaire de vente groupée, qui s’est déroulée le mardi 23 janvier 2024 à Bertoua dans le département du Lom et Djerem, avec sept opérateurs en lice, pour un volume global de 85 tonnes de cacao, après dépôt d’une caution individuelle record de 30 000 000 FCFA par chaque compétiteur » renseigne le communiqué du Mincommerce.

Pour mémoire, alors que le prix du kg de fèves de cacao avait atteint la barre de 2520 FCFA il y a quelques jours, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana avait indiqué que ce prix n’était qu’une étape et les prix devraient aller plus haut encore, en raison de la spécificité du cacao du Cameroun qui a déjà été inséré par l’Organisation internationale du cacao dans la liste très sélective de cacao fin et compte tenu par ailleurs de la campagne que le gouvernement entend mener dans les semaines à venir pour que le cacao du Cameroun soit considéré comme un produit d’agroforesterie et soit rémunéré en conséquence, c’est à dire au-delà des prix du cacao conventionnel. A ce titre, le Cameroun devrait bénéficier d’une prime.
